Students enjoying working together to find the correct sound made by the suffix -ed for each word in this game.
This was a word sort created to use with the story Dear Mrs. LaRue, Letters from Obedience School. All the words are related to the story. And, most words are in the story even though many are not in the past tense. The students are asked to sort the words according to the sounds of the corresponding -ed suffix. There are 72 word cards, a sort sheet, three options for student directions, and paws to print on the back to help with self-checking (if desired).
I was using the Reading Treasures series by McGraw Hill when I created and used this game, but I believe it will work well with just the story book or alone.
