We are Thankful! Thanksgiving Leaf Writing Activities
This is an enjoyable and fun craft and writing activity that permits students to display what they are thankful for! This was created for second to third grade students, but it can definitely be applied to younger and older classes. It can be as simple as cutting and writing one sentence for kindergarten and first graders or can be as involved as cutting or tracing, developing details, planning, clearly writing paragraphs with details, revising, editing, and publishing an opinion piece about what the student is thankful for with regard for older students (2nd to 5th grade). It is up to you as to how multifaceted and thorough you would like to make these writing activities.
This resource includes the following:
·Three Different Leaf Forms in various colors or grayscale
·Circle pieces for wreaths
·Writing paper for published paragraphs (optional)
·Color or grayscale printing options
You can place the leaves in literacy centers or complete them as partners, small groups, or a whole class. Plus, this can be easily extended it into a writing assignment to practice expanding details, giving reasons, editing, and/or revising.
